Tracy, a pet owner from Western Washington, is used to the occasional surprise around her home.
With two cats and her loyal dog Nelson, her household often has its share of lighthearted chaos. Still, nothing prepared her for what happened one early morning.
At exactly 5:30 a.m., Nelson woke Tracy to go outside. But when he returned to the porch, waiting to come back in, he wasn’t alone.
An Early Morning Visitor

Nelson stood on the porch wagging his tail, acting as though nothing unusual was going on, despite the early hour.
Tracy moved to let him in, not realizing he had a companion right beside him.

As Nelson trotted into the house, Tracy heard a faint sound behind him. She turned quickly and spotted a pair of glowing eyes in the dark.
To her surprise, it was Dozer, the neighbor’s adventurous dog.
“Nelson woke me up at 5:30am to go potty and guess who followed him home,” Tracy wrote in the video she later shared.
Dozer had dropped by before. In fact, he had become well known for pressing the doorbell when he wanted attention. But this time, his early morning arrival caught her off guard.
“He scares me a lot and I love him so much. Dozer got his treat, a cuddle and we went back to bed,” she added.
Dozer’s Visits Become Routine

Dozer’s visits started three years ago. Tracy had been working in her garage when he appeared out of nowhere, tail wagging as if he already belonged.
She offered him a treat and some affection before he wandered back home.
That first meeting was only the beginning.
Before long, Dozer started showing up regularly, not just for snacks but for companionship.

He quickly settled into the rhythm of Tracy’s household, making himself comfortable with Nelson and the cats. Once inside, he strolls around like he owns the place, collects his treat, enjoys some cuddles, and often curls up for a nap.
Sometimes, he even spends the night. Afterward, he signals when it’s time to leave, heading back on his own.
Tracy says he travels nearly half a mile, weaving through fields and woods, just to visit her family. His original owners know about his wanderings and don’t mind, since they are confident in how well he is cared for at Tracy’s home.
Although they don’t speak frequently, there’s an unspoken understanding: Dozer has two homes, and he is loved in both.

“He comes from about half a mile through farms and trees,” Tracy explained in another video.
Now considered part of the family, Dozer has earned honorary status at Tracy’s house. It is clear to everyone that he sees her home as his own.
Tracy even started a TikTok account to share his daily adventures, where viewers adore his unique lifestyle.
For Tracy and her family, Dozer’s visits have become something special.
“I do believe that Dozer is unique and he’s happy living between homes,” she says.
Dozer has created a life where he belongs in two places at once. His journey between households is more than a routine—it is proof of how love can make any place feel like home.
