That’s exactly what happened when one dog owner from Indiana brought her furry friend in for a trim—without realizing what she was about to walk into.
What Is That Supposed To Be?
It started off as a normal day for Maddie Hilaski, who took her dog in for a routine grooming session to clean up his coat.
She had no idea what was coming. Her boyfriend went to pick up the dog afterward and could immediately tell something was wrong.
The trim didn’t go quite as expected, and even the dog looked unimpressed. His fur was clipped so closely that he looked downright ridiculous.
When her boyfriend sent Maddie the photos, she couldn’t help but laugh. Honestly, it’s hard not to. He just looked that silly.
Later, Maddie explained that it was a new groomer who hadn’t worked with the dog before, which likely led to the confusion.
The groomer asked if she wanted the usual, and Maddie said yes. It seems the notes may have been misread, or just wrong altogether. Either way, the result was hilarious.

Once Maddie posted the dog’s grooming results on TikTok, it’s no wonder the short video quickly went viral.
Plenty of people compared the pup to Frank Gallagher from Shameless and honestly, now I can’t unsee it.
Even someone from Microsoft chimed in with a joke: “404 error: same dog not found.”
Given how drastically the groomer changed the dog’s appearance, it’s understandable that people thought it might be a different dog altogether.
Another person said: “His stare is burning a hole straight into the heart of the stylist responsible for this.”
Who knew dogs could pull off a disappointed look? Apparently, we all do now.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Probably due to matting. Some regular hair maintenance will be able to prevent it next time.”
That may have been the case. The groomer might not have had another option if the dog’s fur was too tangled.
