What began as a routine evening turned unforgettable for Jen Edmondson in southeastern Texas.
Stepping outside, she passed her mailbox and noticed two large, black eyes peering out from the bushes.
Curious, she moved closer and spotted an adorable white dog, gazing at her with a quiet plea for help.
All Alone and Hoping to Be Seen

The pup seemed lost, though his calm, affectionate nature suggested he once had a family. Acting on instinct, Jen recorded a short video and posted it online, hoping someone would recognize him.

“Found him alone and wandering. Turns out he’s super sweet, but no one has claimed him. So we’re fostering him with a local rescue organization,” wrote Jen on her TikTok account.
Comments rolled in confirming that others had seen the same dog roaming around town. Still, no one knew where he came from or whether a home was waiting for him.
That is when Jen decided she needed to step in.
A Foster Home Turns Into a Safe Haven

Jen agreed to foster the dog and brought him to the vet for a full checkup. He was identified as a two year old Great Pyrenees. The clinic recommended she partner with Columbus Rescue Dogs in Columbus, Texas, to foster him through the proper channels.
She readily agreed.
Soon, a small challenge appeared. What started as a short term commitment began to feel like much more.
Jen found herself growing attached to the big sweetheart, whom she named Gibbous after the bright gibbous moon that lit the sky the night they met.
“If I’m being honest, I’m falling in love! He is the sweetest dog and he’s always smiling at me! So we’re getting pretty close to a foster fail here. I’m too vested in this sweet, happy gentle giant,” wrote Jen.
Each day, Gibbous relaxed a little more, and the bond between them deepened.
Gibbous Finds His Forever

After several months of fostering and preparing Gibbous for adoption, Jen realized she could not say goodbye.
With no owner coming forward and her heart fully invested, she chose to adopt him herself.
Gibbous had found his forever home, right where he belonged.
These days, Gibbous is thriving. He enjoys a spacious yard, yet his favorite place is always close to Jen.
He loves car rides, easygoing walks, and playtime with his new mom. He can be a little stubborn, but that winning smile tends to make everything okay.
“Life is good for this rescue foster Gibbous. Hes sooooo good at car rides, outdoor dining, loving people,” says his momma.

Seeing Gibbous flourish is pure joy. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness for him and his mom.To follow their story, you can watch more of Jen and Gibbous on TikTok or visit their Instagram for updates.
