While driving through Mississippi, Breanna suddenly noticed a small, furry figure darting across the road. She hit the brakes immediately.
Curious and concerned, she stepped out of her car to take a closer look. That’s when she saw a tiny puppy, trembling, with his face buried in the grass.
The sight broke her heart. It seemed clear that someone had abandoned the little one by the roadside. Breanna knew right then she couldn’t leave without helping him.
The poor pup didn’t realize that his life was about to change forever.
A Lonely Pup Finds Compassion
Breanna knelt down and gently called for the puppy to come out, but he hesitated, still unsure if he could trust her.
Undeterred, she spoke softly, whistling and coaxing him with calm, reassuring words. Slowly, the puppy — later named Koa — peeked out from the grass. Something about her voice must have told him she meant no harm.
Gathering his courage, Koa crept toward Breanna.
She reached out to pet him, her touch gentle and comforting. Up close, she could see just how neglected he was.
“He looked skinny and dirty with a lot of fleas,” Breanna wrote on TikTok.
She scooped him up, placed him in her car, and headed home.
During the drive, Koa lay quietly, gazing at her with uncertain eyes, as if trying to decide whether to trust this new human in his life.
Settling Into A Safe Space
Once back at her home in Lumberton, Mississippi, Breanna gave Koa a warm bath and held him close like a baby. She knew he needed to feel loved and secure.
Both Breanna and her husband worked to make him comfortable, and their young son instantly adored the little pup. They bought him toys, took him outside to play, and showered him with affection.
It didn’t take long for the family to fall for Koa’s sweet personality. They soon decided that they couldn’t imagine life without him.
“We love him, he’s so sweet,” Breanna shared in another TikTok video.
A Forever Home At Last
Koa’s world had completely transformed. He adored his new family, but Breanna was clearly his favorite. He followed her everywhere, eyes full of gratitude.
A trip to the vet confirmed he needed some care. He was dewormed, given vaccinations, and given a clean bill of health to return home.
As the days passed, Koa’s confidence blossomed. His playful side emerged, especially when he spent time with his little human brother.
Now, the once-abandoned puppy is living his happiest life — safe, loved, and with a family who will never let him down.
