One senior Labrador Retriever named Connie embodies this truth, as her presence reminds us that joy can be found in the most unassuming moments.
Meet Connie
Connie is a senior chocolate Lab who simply loves making strangers smile.
The special thing about this girl is that she loves to sit outside her doorstep on her bed and wait for her neighbors to pass by.
As soon as she notices someone approaching her, she starts wagging her tail, signaling that she is one happy and friendly doggo.
It’s hard not to smile at the sight of her, but once you read the handwritten note taped on the wall beside her, you simply can not help but light up and be happy.
One day, a woman who lives close by, Becky Albon, was out walking with her husband around Connie’s neighborhood when she spotted her.
As they approached her, Connie immediately perked up.
That is when they also noticed a note above this lovely pup…

One of the notes above Connie’s bed read:
FREE CUDDLES: I’m old & arthritic, but still have lots of love to share. Love Connie 🐾
The other note taped on the other side of the pillar had something similar written on it:
FREE CUDDLES 🐾: I’m very old & lame, but love affection. Love Connie xx
As soon as Becky and her husband read the notes, they knew what they had to do. They sat next to her for about five minutes, giving her lots of love.
“She was super friendly and happy to see us. She even let us give her belly rubs,” Becky told The Dodo.
All three of them loved every single second of that encounter, which definitely brightened their day.
Becky decided to post about Connie and their lovely encounter on the famous Facebook group called Dogspotting: “Just went for a walk and met lovely Connie waiting on her doorstep for free cuddles.”
Sweet Connie quickly became famous all over the world, with that post reaching more than 14K likes. Many of her fans went above their way to come visit her and give her some cuddles.
