A Funny Mistake That Made Everyone Laugh
One thing Heather dislikes is leaving Ernest alone. Over time, she discovered her mini Dachshund copes with separation by resting in his crate.
Though Heather doesn’t usually crate Ernest, she realized it works well when she’s out. Instead of wandering the house looking for his humans, Ernest finds comfort playing with his toys inside.
This time, it was not just about comfort but companionship too.
One day, Heather’s fiancé, Alex, forgot to check on Ernest before leaving, and when Heather returned, she saw a surprising sight.

The dog and cat were left together in the crate for five hours because of Alex’s honest oversight. And they didn’t seem to mind at all.
Though Heather was initially annoyed to find them together for so long, she realized Ernest and Louis actually enjoyed each other’s company. They didn’t fight, showed no anxiety, and barely noticed being locked inside.
Luckily, they had plenty of water, a cozy blanket, and a bed to make their afternoon truly restful. And that’s exactly what they did.

After sending the video to Alex, Heather shared it with her TikTok followers. She didn’t expect the clip to go viral in just days.
Soon, the funny mishap became a social media hit, drawing hundreds of comments.
