Dogs are naturally curious creatures.
They love to explore the world with their mouths, whether it’s their favorite squeaky toy, a random stick, or even your best pair of shoes. If they like it, chances are it’ll end up between their teeth.
And honestly, who can blame them? Without hands, their mouths are the perfect tool. The tricky part, of course, is convincing them to let go once they’ve found something they like.
What Did He Pick Up?
While relaxing on the porch one sunny day, a dog owner let her pup out into the yard to enjoy the nice weather.
After a while, she noticed her pup trotting around with something clutched tightly in his mouth. Looking closer, she was startled to see a pair of tiny feet dangling from it.
Shocked, she immediately told her pup to drop it. But instead of listening, the mischievous dog refused.
“Bad boy! Drop it!” shouted the owner in an Instagram video.
Normally, those dreaded words are enough to make any pup stop in their tracks. But not this one.
He plopped down on the porch and stubbornly held on, as if nothing in the world could make him let go.
Plan B
It became clear that the pup had decided he wasn’t giving up his new “friend” so easily. No matter how much his owner pleaded, he stayed put, keeping his mouth firmly shut.
“I’m never letting you out into the yard again. Put it down. Drop it! You are being a bad boy! Drop it,” the frustrated owner said.
Finally, she came up with an idea she knew would work—a trade. She offered him a treat.
Sure enough, the moment he saw the snack, the clever dog ran back into the yard and released his mysterious little treasure.
To her surprise, the pup’s prize turned out to be a baby bunny!
Thankfully, the tiny rabbit wasn’t harmed. The kind-hearted woman gently picked it up and placed it back into its nest.
“He curled back in there, so I think he is okay. Sorry, friend! I am so sorry!” she said.
A Happy Ending
The sweet bunny snuggled back with his family, safe and sound, ready for a much-needed nap.
As for the pup? Hopefully, he got his well-deserved treat.
He never meant any harm—he was just curious and wanted to play with his new little friend.
