When most owners see that their pup is engaging in some serious mischief, they usually break it up pretty quickly.
Shortly after that, they get the sweetest puppy face from a guilty dog who won’t accept responsibility for his misdeeds. That leads to the owner forgiving the pup as usual.
This is the normal situation. However, some dogs are a lot more sneaky than others, and they can act out without their owners realizing they are even doing it at first.
I know that because it happened to me, and these owners from Washington we will talk about are no different. They kept wondering why their dishwasher was ‘broken,’ only to learn the real truth behind it.
Who ‘Broke’ The Dishwasher?
When Hailey Adair noticed that her dishwasher started acting weird in the last few days, she thought it was time to call the mechanic.
She couldn’t figure out what was causing the problem, and it’s happened several times now. However, one day, she randomly went into the kitchen and learned the real truth.
Her dog, Darrel, was being very sneaky whenever he switched the dishwasher’s magnetic dirty/clean sign. Nobody noticed this for weeks, but he was doing it.
This didn’t completely surprise her as Darrel was a clever dog who learned many tricks, thanks to his owner. At one point, he even learned how to play Connect 4 with Hailey.
That wasn’t his only talent. He also loved playing hockey on the carpet, and whenever he scored, he would go to his mom for praise.
Another one was playing basketball with the hoop glued on the fridge. He was just a really curious pup and loved to have fun all the time.
So, now that we know this, it’s really not surprising that he was messing with the dishwasher. Hailey taught him how to use it, in fact, but only when she was around. I guess he got bored and tried doing it whenever he could for fun.
Well, The Problem Is Solved For Now
Even though Hailey has figured out the problem, she still thought it was funny that Darrel was the one messing with the dishwasher, so she uploaded his reaction to TikTok.
Unsurprisingly, the dog from Washington went viral, and there were many reactions to it.
One person commented: “When mom says you have to wait until she’s done with the dishes to go on a walk.”
Yeah, now we can turn the suspicion from Darrel to someone else. Maybe he was just doing it because he wanted to go for a walk. I guess we will never know.
Another person said: “What’s wrong with it is your dog very obviously obeying a command you taught him?”
This got me thinking. Maybe Darrel is really not guilty. Maybe his mom just didn’t tell him when he should do this. That’s a possibility. He can use it for his defense.
Lastly, somebody commented: “I’m his attorney…he’s been setup and my client and I can prove it.”
See? I knew something was off about this case the moment I started reading the story. Darrel is actually innocent in all of this.
All jokes aside, it’s really heartwarming to see an owner who has so much fun with her dog and teaches him so many things. The two of them are the most interesting duo I have seen in a while.
