California Woman Finds Injured Puppy Curled Up In Her Parents’ Yard Waiting For Help

Life on the streets is rough for any stray dog, but for young puppies, it can be especially harsh. Rather than resting in their mother’s care, many are left to navigate dangers alone, scavenging for scraps just to survive.

Mystic was one of those puppies, trying to make it day by day.

She was injured, starving, and desperately in need of help. As she wandered through a quiet neighborhood in California, dragging her little paws, she came across a peaceful-looking home. She chose to lie down and wait.

With quiet hope, she curled into the grass and waited for someone to notice her.

Sweet Little Pup Caught Someone’s Eye

When Jaymee Cisneros came by to check on her parents’ house while they were away, she noticed a small puppy curled in a corner of the yard.

As Cisneros approached, the pup locked eyes with her, silently pleading for help.

Although shy at first, the puppy slowly began wagging her tail, sensing she had found someone kind.

Cisneros gently picked up the tiny dog, later named Mystic, and quickly realized she was hurt.

She contacted her friends at  Tanya’s Adoption Network 4 Young Animals, a California-based rescue, and told them she had found a dog who needed urgent care.

The rescue agreed to take Mystic in. While waiting for them, Cisneros brought her inside and gave her a gentle bath. Mystic felt comforted by the care and safety.

Wrapped in a towel, Mystic showered her rescuer with sweet, grateful looks. Her big eyes beamed with appreciation.

The exhausted puppy drifted off into a deep nap. Once she woke, she enjoyed a filling meal.

Cisneros snuggled up beside her, and Mystic soaked in the love she had missed for so long.

The bond between them formed quickly.

Soon, just as promised, the rescue team arrived and took Mystic into their care. But once they left, Cisneros realized how much she missed her.

“… As soon as the rescue left with her, I felt like I was missing something. I ended up reaching out to [the] rescue after they left and let them know if she didn’t have a family and became adoptable, we would gladly take her in,” Cisneros told The Dodo.

A Forever Home She Always Longed For

Mystic received the treatment she needed and quickly began to heal.

With no microchip and no one searching for her, Cisneros and her family offered to adopt her.

Mystic’s once-weary face lit up with joy. She had finally found the love and security she had longed for.

She would never be cold, hungry, or alone again.

We’re so happy that Mystic found a family that truly cherishes her, and we hope other strays will soon find the same.

No puppy deserves to survive alone on the streets.
