For one woman in North Carolina, that moment arrived in a way she never could have predicted. Her dog slipped out through a gap in the fence, and from there, the story took a completely unexpected turn.
A Microchip Mix-Up Leaves Her Powerless
Ariel Wolf was enjoying a quiet afternoon in her yard with her 13-year-old dog, Mochi. Despite being partially blind and hard of hearing, Mochi was still agile and curious.
Suddenly, she spotted a small opening in the fence and squeezed through it.
In a flash, she was gone. Ariel searched frantically, calling out and checking nearby streets, but Mochi had disappeared.
