That September day felt like any other for Leilani Slocumb. After dropping her kids off at school, she headed back home, expecting the usual routine. But as she neared her front door in Georgia, she was met with a sight she never could have predicted.

At the vet, Bo underwent a full checkup. He was diagnosed with mange and prescribed antibiotics, but otherwise he was doing alright. When scanned, a microchip revealed he did have former owners.
The vet expected that the news would bring joy, but the reality was crushing. Bo’s owners admitted they no longer wanted him. They had given him away six months earlier to someone they didn’t even know by name.
A Fresh Start
The following day, Slocumb returned to visit Bo. When she learned that no one was coming for him, she made a decision that would change both their lives. She brought him home, determined to give him the love and care he had been denied.
“After a long day, we went home and Bo rolled straight in the dirt and was the happiest he has been since he’s been with us. He knows he is home now,” she wrote on TikTok.
The family officially adopted Bo, convinced that he was meant to be part of their lives. His joy was undeniable. Tail wagging endlessly, Bo realized he was no longer alone.
