Texas Woman Felt Compelled To Take A Detour, What She Found On The Road Left Her Speechless

Kristin Erwin was on her way home when she suddenly felt compelled to check a road that was known as a dog dumping site. She wanted to make sure if there were any new victims.

The founder of Streethearts Project, a rescue in Dayton, Texas, took a detour and once she pulled onto the notorious road, she spotted a lonely puppy running after a car as if she was begging the driver to help her.

After the car sped away, the pup noticed Erwin and began following her van.

The moment Erwin stopped her car, the puppy rushed to her side, wagging her tail as if she had been waiting for her all along.

Bringing The Puppy To Safety

Erwin spoke to the pup in a soft voice. As soon as the pup heard her voice, she sensed that she would help her and she ran toward her.

The pup, later named Shiloh, was ecstatic and kept jumping all over Erwin, trying to greet her with kisses.

“She was jumping all over me, greeting me. When she poked her head in my van, I just gently picked her up and put her in the crate. We heavily foster, so luckily I always have a crate in my vehicle,” Erwin told The Dodo.

After the rescuer ensured no other puppies were nearby, she took Shiloh with her. She felt she was meant to find the pup and rescue her from the streets.

The puppy was underweight and her fur was covered with fleas, but overall, she was in good health.

Erwin assumed she had spent a few days there, running after cars, desperately waiting for someone to stop and help her.

She scanned Shiloh for a microchip, but she didn’t have one. She didn’t have any tags or a collar either.

Relaxing In A Foster Home

Erwin brought her home in order to foster her.

Shiloh effortlessly fit into her home. She immediately hit it off with Erwin’s other foster dogs.

Her playful spirit shone through. Since she was just a puppy, she was full of curiosity and innocent mischief.

“She doesn’t know her size and will try to fit her upper half in your lap. She’s a counter surfer, so gotta keep an eye on her. Overall she’s a really good, fun puppy,” Erwin added.

Shiloh is getting all the care she needs – vaccines, a microchip, and her spay surgery – and she will soon be ready for her forever home.

The adorable pup is available for adoption through Texas Bark Squad, a rescue based in Houston and East Texas.

I hope that Shiloh will soon find her perfect fit and ride into the sunset with a family who will appreciate and love her endlessly.
