North Carolina Woman Adopts Dog For Anxiety Relief, Then Realizes He’s The One Who’s Nervous

Dogs are often praised for their ability to comfort people during anxious moments. It’s one of the many reasons they’ve earned the title of man’s best friend.

But not every dog fits that role right away.

Some pups need time to adjust, and few stories illustrate that better than this one from North Carolina, where a woman adopted a dog hoping he’d help ease her anxiety.

Not Quite What She Expected

From the moment she brought him home, it was clear something was off. As soon as they got in the car, his behavior raised eyebrows.

He trembled throughout the ride, visibly nervous and unsure. It quickly became apparent that he wasn’t used to being around people.

Once they arrived home, however, his affectionate side began to show. What he needed most was patience, and with that, he started to flourish.

The woman filmed him shaking in the car and joked that the dog she adopted to help with her anxiety seemed to need emotional support himself.

She later uploaded the video to TikTok with the caption: “The dog I got to help me with my anxiety.”

The caption fit perfectly. The clip went viral, and the response was overwhelming.

TikTok Reacts With Humor And Heart

The video sparked a wave of comments, many of which were hilariously relatable.

One person commented: “At this point both of yall just gon head and get a prescription.

It certainly felt that way. The dog’s anxiety wasn’t something that could be fixed overnight.

Another person said: “Now you gotta focus on helping with his anxiety which makes you forget yours

It’s an unconventional approach, but sometimes focusing on someone else’s struggles can shift your own perspective.

Lastly, somebody commented: “The way he looks like he’s looking through so many dimensions and seeing everything we can’t see would drive my anxiety through the roof.

His expression was oddly comical, yet intense enough to make anyone feel a little uneasy.

Despite his nervous start, the dog is now thriving. With the love and support of his new family, he’s living a happy, secure life.
