For some adopted dogs, the details are clear: age, breed, background… It just all comes together. But with dogs like Bowie, much remains to be discovered, and their new families are definitely left with delightful mysteries.
That’s the charm, really. The surprises are part of the journey, and they definitely add more character to the dog welcomed into a new home, right?
For instance, Ginna Dufftt from Michigan adopted Bowie as a Corgi. With his short legs and quirky expression, he certainly looked the part at first glance. But at around thirty pounds and with little puppy energy, something didn’t quite match up.
The result? Bowie’s family turned to a DNA test to uncover the truth behind this “silliest-looking mix.”
A Corgi Or Not, That Is The Question

When Gina and her family adopted Bowie from Bottle Babies Rescue, Michigan, she was told the pup was a Corgi, around four months old.
But as soon as she brought him home, she realized something unusual about his look. Short legs, a sturdy body, floppy ears, and a comically serious face: well, this definitely wasn’t a typical Corgi. And it wasn’t the one she expected!

“We just adopted this handsome man from a local foster rescue! We were told he’s a corgi and 4 months old. Hes about 30 lbs. He’s the silliest mix of dogs we’ve ever seen.. what breeds do you all think are lurking in there? He’s super chill, real low to the ground, and has literally none puppy energy,” Gina shared on Facebook.

Even though Bowie immediately became a beloved member of the family, his owners knew taking a DNA test was the only option to get answers about his breed.
Bowie seems like a mix of breeds that defy easy guesses. For now, his family is eagerly waiting for the results.
Mr. Bowie Pants

Formerly called Mr. Pants, Gina explains that Bowie’s full name is Mr. Bowie Pants. And, it’s definitely safe to say that life in a new home suits this dog perfectly!
According to updates on Bowie’s Instagram page, he enjoys lounging around, hanging with his new family, and showing off his mellow personality.
In one of the posts, the family even explains that Bowie is older than the rescue first thought.
“Bowie is a bit older than we thought! The rescue reported him around 4 months.. first vet visit revealed that he’s probably closer to 8 or 9 months,” the family shared.

Despite the confusion over his breed and age, this unique-looking pup is settling in amazingly. His Instagram shows him exploring the yard, posing for the camera in his favorite spots, and enjoying cozy downtime at home.
Almost each post highlights Bowie’s easygoing vibe.
While the shelter may have given the family a “Corgi” surprise, Bowie has proven himself to be one-of-a-kind. So, whatever the test reveals, his charm and personality will remain unmatched.
Bowie has already won the hearts of those around him, and plenty of fans online too.
