When most people adopt a dog, the first thing they assume is that the pup will be very excited upon going to his new home.
However, that’s not always the case, and it’s why some people are confused about their behavior. The truth is that there is nothing to worry about.
When dogs spend a long time in shelters where it’s loud, crowded, and with very little room to move around, it can be extremely stressful for them.
So, upon moving into a new home, they just need some time to adjust to the new life.
When this woman from California first adopted her dog, she was confused by what she did, only to later learn the real truth about the dog’s behavior.
Well, Isn’t This A Surprise?

When Ty Vaissa first brought a husky named Voda to her new home in California, she thought that the pup would be loud and outgoing.
Considering that she is a husky, it should be expected, but that didn’t actually happen. All she did was lie on the blankets and a comfy pillow for the first day. She hardly moved around.
Ty didn’t want her to feel uncomfortable by forcing her to do anything, so she just let her sleep there for the time being.
This confused her, so she posted a short clip on TikTok where she asked the community for help, and they gave her many useful responses.

One person commented: “She went from a very loud, very stressful environment to a new place that is significantly more chill. I imagine you will be having the typical husky crazies sooner rather than later!”
This is really important to know. When dogs switch environments, they just need some time to get used to it. Voda is no exception to this.
Another person said: “Remember the 3:3:3 rule! 3 days to settle in, 3 weeks to develop a routine, 3 months until they feel comfortable at your home. Depending on her age, she will probably show more personality as she…”
Voda Has Made Some Progress

This! This is an important rule to remember. It’s something every new owner should pay attention to when they adopt a dog.
Some people might feel that their dog hasn’t warmed up to their new home fast enough, so they end up sending it back to the shelter, but the truth is that every pup just needs time.
Shortly after this clip was posted, Ty gave it a chance. She was patient, and it only took a few days before Voda was back to her usual self.

She posted a video where she was calling her into a room, and the pup ran straight to her owner. Voda also likes playing with other dogs outside, and it’s looking like things are going for the better.
Ty is so happy that everything turned out great. Her concern for the pup was warranted, and it showed that she cares so much about Voda.
I really hope that this adorable husky gets to live an amazing life and go on many adventures with his new mom.
