She picked up the phone expecting a simple question: maybe a lost toy or a dog refusing to settle.
Instead, the call came from inside the kennel area: “I’m locked in, I need help.” The coworker sounded unsure whether it was fear or frustration.
The New York staff arrived quickly and stepped past rows of wagging tails, barking dogs, and kennels full of pets. Everything seemed normal on the surface, but something told them it wasn’t.
They rounded a corner and found the coworker standing behind a locked gate, half-grinning, half-trapped, while a large dog sat calmly between her legs.

When the Gunners Getaway received a surprising call from one of its employees, the staff was shocked by what it heard over the call.
One of the employees needed help with the kennels and it was something nobody expected. When the rescue staff got there, they were stunned by what they saw.
Their employee got locked inside the kennel along with a dog. How did this happen? Impossible to tell, but it happened anyway.
The New York staff tried to hold back their laughter after witnessing this. The tables have turned in a spectacular way. Now it was not a dog who needed rescue, but rather the rescuer.
As for the dog inside the kennel, he didn’t seem to mind having a friend over. He looked very happy to have her with him.
The pup stood between the worker’s legs and was just waiting to see what happened next. Maybe he was the one who planned this all along.

After this video went online on the Gunners Getaway TikTok page, it quickly became viral and gained hundreds of thousands of views.

I don’t know about that. He looked excited, but maybe he was worried about the human eating his food. That was a line nobody could cross.

What I don’t understand is how this happens. Does the door automatically lock when it closes, and did someone accidentally push it? I am curious about this.

Well, it’s not that bad here. At least you would have a sweet dog by your side who would keep you company while you wait for someone to bail you out.
