ER Vets In Massachusetts Were Stunned By What They Found Hiding Under The Foam

As someone who was a pet owner before, I recognize the importance of letting our furry companions go out and wander around.

This can be in a park or around the neighborhood. However, when we do that, accidents can happen sometimes, and they are nobody’s fault.

Our pets can become a little careless and end up in trouble for no reason. The best thing to do in this situation is just to quickly react and make sure they don’t end up in the same situation.

What happened in this story is a good example of that. A group of ER Veterinarians from Massachusetts was called to help with something, only to be shocked by what they saw.

What Was Under The Foam?

It was an ordinary Tuesday for Lea Perugini, who suddenly realized that she hadn’t seen her cat, Eli, all day. This was surprising.

Eli liked to walk around the neighborhood, but he would never go away for too long. Lea went to have a look around. There are spots where Eli usually hangs out, so she went there first.

She noticed a pretty big foam insulation truck nearby, but she didn’t think much of it until she got a call from her roommate, who told her about a rescue worker next door.

Apparently, Eli somehow got sprayed with the foam, and the rescue worker was trying to help him get rid of it. Lea quickly ran back home to see what was going on.

Lea quickly called VEG in Newton, from Massachusetts, to help them out, and they were on the scene in no time. Dr. Thamires Nunes, who worked there, was confused when he first heard what was going on.

He thought that it was nothing serious until Lea brought the cat to the ER, and then it all became quickly apparent.

Dr. Nunes told The Dodo:He had the tiniest little bubble around his nose where he could still breathe properly, even though his full eyes and mouth were basically shut.

The cat was very lucky at this point. He could have been in serious trouble if the foam had sealed his nose shut. Right away, the ER team administered medication for pain, and they sedated him.

The Veterinarians Did An Amazing Job

They knew that they didn’t have a lot of time, so a team of six nurses all started gently hacking away the foam. It was a difficult task to perform under such circumstances.

However, even when they got all of the foam off of Eli, there were still some concerns. They weren’t sure if the foam got into his eyes or if it was toxic.

They asked around about the toxicity, and they found out that it wouldn’t cause any problems for Eli. As for his sight, well, that turned out okay as well.

Eli could still see, and the rescuers were surprised by his attitude to everything that was happening to him. He was completely relaxed.

When Lea took him home, she was even more confused. She said: “The second I brought him home, he acted like nothing happened to him [even though] he was shaved. He looked like a sphynx cat. It was so funny.

The good thing is that everything turned out great in the end, and Eli is back to his old self after a few months.

Fortunately, accidents like this are pretty rare, but it highlights just how sometimes, things like this can happen to anyone, and the best we can do in such situations is to stay calm and do what we can to help our furry companions.
