When Lindsey McKenzie, a professional photographer, arrived at a wedding venue in Wilmington, North Carolina, she had no idea that this workday would turn out differently thanks to a furry surprise.
McKenzie started taking photos of the guests arriving at the ceremony when she heard the preacher say something that left her stunned.
A surprise guest had claimed a spot right in the aisle.
McKenzie immediately rushed to see the unexpected visitor herself.
Happy To Attend The Wedding

The photographer joined the preacher at the front and glanced at the aisle where she noticed a gray cat.
He seemed happy to be there, lounging at the center and enjoying all the attention he was getting.
McKenzie learned that the cat’s name was Grayson and that the wedding venue is actually his home. He attended many wedding ceremonies and decided to show up at this one, too. Grayson didn’t care that he wasn’t invited.
Although McKenzie tried to coax him into moving to the side, Grayson didn’t bother to budge an inch. He was perfectly happy with his spot at the wedding ceremony.
“…I nudged him to move over to the side a little bit to prevent people having to step around him (didn’t work, cats do what they want),“ McKenzie told The Dodo.
Grayson enjoyed himself. He stretched and flicked his tail, greeting each of the six bridesmaids, six groomsmen, parents and grandparents as they passed by.

When the bride was about to make an entrance, McKenzie knew that she had to convince Grayson to move along. She couldn’t let anything spoil the magical moment of the bride and the groom seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day.
“Before the bride came down in her big ballgown dress, and so the moment of her and the groom seeing each other for the first time that day wasn’t taken away from, I went to Grayson, said a silent prayer for him to please not be a fighter and scooped him up,” McKenzie added.
The Unforgettable Wedding Experience

Grayson didn’t want to give up his spot before the most beautiful moment of the ceremony. When McKenzie tried to take him in her arms and relocate him, he let out a few meows in protest.
However, the cat soon realized that he had no option but to give in, so he let McKenzie carry him to the back of the ceremony.

Grayson lingered there for a short time, but since he was no longer the star of the show, he lost interest and left the ceremony.
The North Carolina photographer continued with her work while the bride remained blissfully unaware that a cat tried to crash her big moment.
Although having Grayson at the wedding was unexpected, for McKenzie, who is a cat owner and lover, it was a fun and unforgettable wedding experience.
I’m sure the wedding guests would agree with her, too. Despite showing up uninvited, Grayson made the ceremony even more special and memorable.
