Dogs don’t ask for much in return for the love they give—a safe place to call home and someone to care for them. Sadly, not every pup gets the kindness they deserve.
In a heartbreaking case out of Austin, Texas, a tiny four-week-old Husky was cruelly thrown into a trash can, left to suffer in silence.
Despite being weak and on the brink of death, the determined pup let out cries for help, holding on to hope that someone might hear him.
A Kind Stranger Steps In

By some miracle, a passerby heard the faint whimpers coming from the garbage bin and rushed over to check. What they found left them speechless—a tiny, helpless Husky clinging to life.
The puppy, later named Kiss, was cold and nearly unresponsive. Without hesitation, the compassionate bystander scooped him up and rushed him to an emergency veterinary clinic.
Veterinarians quickly assessed his condition and found that his blood sugar was dangerously low—so low, in fact, it couldn’t be measured. Kiss was too frail to even take in food.
The veterinary team sprang into action, giving him fluids and trying to warm his fragile body. Though Kiss couldn’t lift his head, he was still fighting.
The Pup Needs A Loving Foster Family

The next morning, Kiss was transferred to Austin Animal Center for further care.
His condition required more intensive treatment, so he was soon moved to Austin Pets Alive! (APA!).
At APA!, veterinarians continued working tirelessly to stabilize him. They got his blood sugar under control, rehydrated him, and started him on antibiotics.

“In a private clinic, care like this would cost over $1,000. At APA!, we do everything we can to keep that cost lower for pets like Kiss — but it’s still a heavy lift…” Austin Pets Alive! wrote in a Facebook post.
As Kiss’s story spread across social media, people were outraged that anyone could treat an innocent animal with such cruelty. Yet, they were equally inspired by the compassion shown by the stranger who found him and the team fighting to save his life.
Now, Kiss needs a loving foster home in Central Texas—someone to help him heal and grow stronger. Once he’s fully recovered, this resilient pup will be ready to find the forever family he so deeply deserves.
Thanks to the quick actions of a Good Samaritan and the dedication of rescue workers, Kiss has a second chance at life.
