Texas Rescuers Were Shocked After Learning Malnourished Pittie Was Poisoned By Ibuprofen

When your dog gets sick, one of the first things you want to do is go directly to your nearest veterinary clinic.

The next step is to make sure you stay informed about your dog’s health and possible ailments. You never know when your dog can get sick next, and you need to be prepared for that.

If something bad happens, all owners should react quickly in order to help their furry companions. This is the only way to make sure they stay with us for as long as they can.

However, some families, who are less informed, will try unorthodox methods to help their dogs and that can lead to problems.

These Texas owners tried to help their dog in a dangerous way, and it almost cost him, but rescuers were able to save the day.

They Gave Him Ibuprofen?

When the Texas owners saw that their dog was getting sick, the first thing they thought was to give him ibuprofen. It works for humans, so it should work for dogs, right?

Well, no, that’s actually a horrible idea and it can very quickly backfire. These owners gave the pill to their dog, but what works for us doesn’t really work for them.

The pup was struggling because of the medicine, and his owners just tied him to a car and left because I assume they thought that he was a lost cause.

Texas rescuers working for Austin Bulldog Rescue decided to intervene. He was found and then quickly transported to a veterinary clinic.

They had to give him a blood transfusion fast, and after doing a checkup on him, they discovered that he was seriously emaciated and anemic.

The Pup Was Emaciated And Anemic

The first twenty-four hours were crucial, and everything went smoothly. The rescuers learned that the person who found this dog actually tried to get law enforcement involved, which is why he was found tied to a car.

After his health improved, he was transferred to a foster home and that’s when everything changed.

His mood was improving and he was starting to play with his foster mom more. The dog’s mange was also starting to go away, and his fur coat was looking a lot better.

This was amazing news because it finally meant that he could be signed up for adoption. Hopefully, a kind family will give him a chance.

Shockingly, after a month in the care of his rescuers, the dog did get adopted. He met his new family and that’s when everything changed.

He is a completely different dog now. His story is one of endurance and perseverance. Despite going through horrible things, he is doing a lot better now and is living his best life.
