Terrified Dog Abandoned In California Park Shies Away From Help, Then Slowly Begins To Change

Whenever we come across rescue stories online about dogs left in isolated places, one question always comes to mind: why?

Seriously, how can anyone not ask that? Why is it so difficult for people who no longer want their dogs to at least drop them off at a shelter?

It’s the absolute minimum. It doesn’t take much, but it could completely turn things around for a dog and bring joy to someone else’s life.

The truth is, people like that just don’t care. They won’t even do the bare minimum.

That’s exactly what happened to this young dog who was dumped at a California park. Thankfully, a compassionate rescuer named Suzette Hall was already organizing a mission to save her.

She Faced Real Danger

When Suzette Hall first learned about the dog at the park, it broke her heart to know someone had left her behind like that.

The dog was frightened, but she hadn’t started out alone. As it turned out, there had been two dogs in the park, both struggling to make it through.

But the danger was real. Coyotes had been spotted in the area, and they weren’t afraid to come close.

They attacked one of the dogs, and sadly, he didn’t survive the injuries he received. The remaining pup was left on her own to face the park.

She kept hoping her friend would get up, but that never happened. She wandered around the park looking for food and returned to the bushes again and again.

Hall was deeply shaken after hearing what the pup had been through. Since she couldn’t get there herself, she asked two rescuers, Arturo Flores and Lou Dora, to go check on her.

Hope Was Finally On The Horizon

As expected, things didn’t go smoothly at first. The pup was now wary of everything around her, so the rescuers had to think creatively.

More rescuers, Nuñez Aky, Yamileth, and Karla, joined in, staying late into the evening, determined to bring her to safety.

After some time, they managed to get her. She was soaked and covered in sticks. The rescuers quickly transported her to a nearby shelter in California.

Everyone felt an overwhelming sense of relief knowing she was now safe and wouldn’t meet the same fate as her friend.

Now that she’s getting the care she needs, a veterinarian has started treatment, and her rescuers are committed to giving her the normal life she deserves.

Though we don’t yet know when that will happen, it’s comforting to know she’s resting, healing, and finally safe — all thanks to the people who refused to give up on her.
