When I first learned about Keller’s story, my heart sank.
How could such a sweet, affectionate boy be left without a family? How did life lead him to be alone?
Those questions stuck with me, but the truth was clear—no matter how good of a companion you are, some battles can’t be fought alone. Through no fault of his own, Keller found himself in a shelter, begging every passerby for just one chance.
The best part was, he never once lost faith that a kind soul would stop and see him.
A Gentle Soul Hoping For Home

Keller’s past is still somewhat of a mystery. Before arriving at PupStarz Rescue, he had spent time at another shelter.
Thanks to the rescue’s partners in Tennessee, he was transferred north, where a brand-new chapter of his life began.
“This adorable senior pup is on the lookout for his forever home where he can live out his golden years in comfort and love,” PR wrote in a Facebook post.

From the very first day, Keller showed nothing but kindness. His cheerful, affectionate personality won everyone over quickly, and before long, he was one of the rescue’s favorites.
He later moved into a foster home with a woman named Kristen, and his happiness only grew.
“His loving nature and gentle spirit make him an instant favorite with everyone he meets. Although he appears to be deaf, Keller doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. He’s a resilient little guy who continues to spread joy wherever he goes,” the rescue wrote.

Watching Keller thrive in his senior years was nothing short of inspiring. Even after undergoing a dental procedure alongside his hearing loss, which left him completely toothless, he never let it change his spirit.
If anything, being a ten-year-old senior without teeth made him even cuter.
“His tongue now adorably hangs out of his mouth most of the time, giving him the cutest, most endearing expression,” the rescue added.
Golden Years Filled With Love

Keller spent his days bringing joy to everyone around him. He adored his daily walks and treasured long cuddle sessions with his foster mom.
When he wasn’t smothering hoomans with kisses and snuggles, he loved playing with his fellow pups. Size didn’t matter—Keller happily befriended even the biggest dogs around.
It was clear he was the whole package, ready to bring endless love to the right family. And thankfully, his wait wasn’t too long.

Just last month, two kind-hearted people arrived at the rescue with one goal in mind: to adopt Keller.
The moment he realized he was finally going home, his joy overflowed. For the first time in a long time, he had a family ready to embrace him exactly as he was.
After all the searching and waiting, Keller is finally where he belongs—in a forever home, ready to enjoy his golden years surrounded by love.
