A Call For Help
The team at Hope For Paws in California received an urgent message about a lonely dog hiding under a car and immediately set out to the location.
After several hours of searching, they found her curled up in the same spot. Moving deliberately and gently to avoid alarming her, the rescuers approached with caution.
One team member remembered rescuing another dog in this very area, a testament to how strays often seek refuge in that spot.
They placed some food nearby, which the starving dog ate eagerly.
Even though she was nervous, hunger pushed her to take the food. That gave the rescuers a chance to slip on a leash, but she quickly squirmed out of it.
They didn’t give up. More food was offered, and while things moved slowly at first, her attitude began to change. Soon her tail was wagging, almost like she was turning the whole thing into a cautious little game.
