Lonely Stray Pup From Pennsylvania Found With Head Trapped In Cheese Ball Bucket Gets Heartwarming Rescue

Only stray dogs know how much they struggle day after day, wandering in search of food and a peaceful place to rest their heads.

Sometimes, these lonely souls end up in trouble and are too scared to even accept human help.

Such was the case of a stray pup from Pennsylvania who got her head trapped in a cheese ball bucket. She felt frightened and helpless as she desperately tried to remove the bucket from her head.

Sadly, no matter how hard she tried, the pup couldn’t free herself. Unable to eat and drink, she was getting weaker by the hour.

Would anyone come to her rescue before time ran out?

The Rescue Mission

As the pup, later named Dallas, roamed around, desperately trying to get rid of the bucket, the locals noticed her and felt compelled to help her.

On August 17, 2025, they contacted Canine Rescue of Central PA (CRCPA), a rescue based in Dillsburg, who got extremely worried for the pup because she couldn’t eat or drink water.

“That plastic container is down to, I would say, about a quarter of the way down its neck, and it’s been seen trying to get it off, and it can’t get it off. So, it’s not getting water. It’s not getting food. We’re worried about it getting proper oxygen,” Beth Miller, a CRCPA volunteer, told NBC affiliate WGAL.

Volunteers and the rescue’s partners FIND TOBY in PA joined forces with them and rushed to the pup’s rescue. Unfortunately, although they successfully located her, the pup was too scared to let them approach her and she ran away to the cornfield.

Worried that Dallas’ time was running out, the rescue posted a call for help on Facebook on August 19th, asking the community to report any sightings of the dog.

At night, a new group of volunteers arrived including Bill Fisher from Drone Deployment Services, LLC and Dallas Fuhrman from Nighthawk Drone Services. The group tirelessly searched for Dallas until Fuhrman successfully located her with his drone around 3 am on August 20th.

“At 3 a.m., Dallas (named in honor of drone pilot Dallas Fuhrman) was finally located deep in a cornfield, disoriented, exhausted, and still struggling with the jar,” CRCPA shared in a Facebook update.

Her rescuers added Cheddar as her middle name, a playful tribute to the ordeal she went through.

The rescuers consoled her as they led her from the cornfield. They removed the jar from her head and drove her to the vet.

Nursing Dallas Back To Health

Upon arrival at Shores Veterinary Emergency Center, Dallas received a medical checkup. She was infested with ticks and was given the necessary treatment.

Despite everything she went through, Dallas was a sweetheart and she snuggled with her rescuers.

Since her condition required small and frequent meals to prevent electrolyte shifts and refeeding syndrome, the rescuers placed her in a foster home.

Her foster mom received Dallas with open arms and gave her the care she needed. The pup is doing well.

At this time, the rescue center is working hard to find her family, so she is not available for adoption.

They will continue sharing updates about her on their Facebook.

The rescue is incredibly grateful to everyone who searched for Dallas ever since she was first spotted and to the volunteers who took part in her rescue mission.

Thanks to the community effort, Dallas got a second chance at life. We hope that she will recover soon and that she will find her happiness.
