When Ruby was just a furbaby, she arrived at a shelter in Arizona.
The adorable white and gray Pit Bull mix was hopeful that she would soon meet a family who would give her the loving home she wanted more than anything else.
Before long, Ruby caught the eye of a family who decided to adopt her.
The shelter staff kissed the pup goodbye and wished her all the best in her new home.
A couple of years later, the staff was surprised to see Ruby back at the shelter.
Ruby’s Family Didn’t Claim Her
Ruby’s shelter friends were worried about her. She was sad and she missed her family.
The staff reached out to her owners, but they didn’t come to the shelter to claim her.
And, just like that, Ruby’s dream was gone.
Going back to the shelter was a stressful experience for her. The pup missed her family and kept hoping that they would come back for her and take her home.
As days passed, Ruby started realizing that they wouldn’t show up.
The staff understood how disappointed the doggo felt. They consoled her and gave her love.
The pup was grateful to her friends for being there for her when she needed them. She reciprocated their love and displayed her affectionate nature.
The Arizona shelter hoped that the shelter visitors and potential adopters would notice her and give her what she wanted the most… a loving home.
The Pup Meets Her New Dad
Fortunately, after staying at the shelter for a few weeks, the most extraordinary thing happened.
A kind-hearted man saw the doggo and felt drawn to her. He filled out the adoption paperwork and waited for the shelter’s response.
Once he learned that she was approved, Ruby’s adopter rushed to the shelter in order to collect her and take her to her new home.
When the doggo met her new dad, she couldn’t contain her happiness.
As he knelt and told her that he was her new dad, Ruby planted many kisses on his face and lay on her back, asking for belly rubs.
After her dad had cuddled her, the pup stood up on her back legs and threw herself into his arms. She felt that she had finally found the person she belonged with.
Ruby’s dad was a picture of happiness when he realized how overjoyed and sweet the pup was.
The shelter staff was moved to tears as they witnessed the happiest moment in the dog’s life.
Ruby left the shelter with a smile on her face. She settled into her new home perfectly, and she couldn’t be happier.
