South Carolina Staff Discover 13 Puppies Running Loose And Are Stunned To Realize Who Let Them Out

South Carolina Staff Discover 13 Puppies Running Loose And Are Stunned To Realize Who Let Them Out

When the staff at Greenville Humane Society in South Carolina showed up for work expecting a normal morning, they had no idea something unusual was waiting for them.

What greeted them wasn’t the calm routine they anticipated, but a scene straight out of a comedy. Instead of finding their furry residents tucked in beds, they discovered thirteen energetic puppies running around the building like they owned the place.

The staff was left stunned, wondering how the little ones had managed such an escape overnight. After all, the puppies were far too small to unlatch the kennel doors themselves. When the truth finally came out, the revelation left everyone in disbelief.

The Adorable Culprit

The culprit was Tupelo, the puppies’ mom who recently weaned her babies. The staff assumed that Tupelo must have missed her babies at night and came to look for them and kiss them goodnight.

She somehow opened the kennel and set her babies free. The staff didn’t know how she managed to pull off this little midnight jailbreak.

“Truthfully, we have no clue. But … [she] managed to open the nursery door, let all 13 of her babies loose, and go on a midnight romp through the shelter,” Greenville Humane Society wrote in a Facebook post.

The South Carolina staff breathed a sigh of relief because all the puppies were safe and sound. Although the babies were bursting with energy, they didn’t wander away too far. The staff found all of them in the main hallway.

“Most of them [had] plopped down for naps in the middle of the floor or were happily toddling around behind their mama,” a representative from Greenville Humane Society told The Dodo.

The staff members understood Tupelo’s actions and her motherly instincts.

Enjoying Life Outside The Shelter

Shortly after the adorable heist, the mama dog and her furbabies were placed in different foster homes.

Although their shelter friends knew that they would miss each other, separating them was in the family’s best interests. Tupelo needed to focus on herself and the puppies couldn’t wait to enjoy their puppyhood outside the shelter.

The doggy family thrived in their foster homes, where they were showered with love.

“Her puppies are doing fantastic in their foster homes as well…” the representative added.

Once the puppies grow up and reach the ideal age for adoption, they will start looking for a permanent home.

We’re sure that when the right time comes, the doggy family will meet their forever humans and find the unconditional love their hearts crave.
