Life can be particularly cruel to stray puppies who are just helpless without their parents or owners. Like, how can they actually survive on their own?
However, what makes this situation even more difficult is when the puppies in question are special-needs and will definitely not make it without help.
It’s tragic just how many such dogs get abandoned all the time simply because unethical breeders brand them as ‘useless’ and just dump them on the street.
These special needs puppies from Minnesota were in the exact same situation, but their story took a turn for the better when they met someone special.
They Were Very Lucky

After the kind people from Emotional Rescue in Minnesota found a litter of puppies who wouldn’t stop shaking, they quickly took them to safety.
Considering that the organization actually cares for dogs with special needs, these puppies were really fortunate.
After examining them back at the shelter, it was concluded that they had Shaking puppy syndrome, also known as hypomyelination.

It usually occurs when they eat, but subsides while they are relaxing. Some activities can also trigger it, but it’s not that serious.
Even though there is no cure for this condition, most, if not all, puppies ‘outgrow’ the problem after a year. Some retain only minor limb twitching, but it’s nothing to worry about.
All five puppies are doing well in the care of their rescuers and their rescuers hope to find a home for all of them when they get better.
How Do They Not Get Tired?

After first taking in these puppies, the Minnesota rescuers posted a short clip about them on their TikTok which drew a lot of attention.
Many people felt really bad for these puppies, but the good thing is that they will eventually recover from this problem, so that is great news.
One person commented: “SHAKING PUPPY SYNDROME. It’s from irresponsible backyard breeders. NOT distemper.”
Well, I am pretty sure that is the case. Still, let’s remain hopeful that things will turn out a lot better for them in the future.
Another person said: “Do their muscles ever get to relax? This seems lowkey sad.”

Essentially, they relax when resting and the tremors usually start when they are engaging in some kind of light activity or when they are eating.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Adorable! How do their muscles maintain that movement, that must be exhausting for them! I love them!”
Yeah, that is most certainly the case, but they usually lie down when they get exhausted. While this is a big problem right now, it’s slowly going in a better direction.
This sorrowful video reminds us of the dangers of backyard breeding and why it’s important to condemn practices like this, so that puppies never have to suffer from issues like this.
