Few experiences rival the excitement of a dog on the brink of adoption. If you’ve ever seen that moment, you know exactly what I mean: a frantic wag, blissful eyes, and a racing heart shouting, “At last, I’m going home!”
To set the scene: a black-and-white dog with medium-long fur, the innocence of a child, the disposition of the perfect companion, and the most radiant grin you’ve ever seen. Ladies and gentlemen, this is Prince!
He displayed all these qualities at the most pivotal moment of his life. But not long after finding a home, Prince faced another nightmare.
Prince Just Wanted A Family

Thanks to PawSafe, a Connecticut rescue group, Prince was pulled from a high-euthanasia shelter just in time. He traded uncertainty and neglect for a safe haven and people who truly cared.
Once he’d regained his strength and health, Prince was ready for a fresh start.

A man discovered Prince through his Connecticut network, fell head over heels, and made the promise to give him a forever home. It was the perfect day.
It was one of those unforgettable moments of pure joy—for Prince, the gentle stroke of a new dad’s hand, a warm embrace, and the promise of adventures together. Absolutely picture-perfect!
But then, everything changed.
However, things soon changed.

What had seemed like the storybook ending turned into Prince’s worst nightmare. Shortly after his adoption, he was back at the shelter.
Staff learned that his owner landed a job demanding constant travel and, without a second thought, decided to give up his companion.
“Sadly, his owner became too busy with his own forever to remember Prince’s forever and he’s back at the shelter,” PawSafe wrote in a TikTok post”.
Let’s Start All Over Again

Now Prince must begin anew. Heartbroken and bewildered, this sweet dog is in shock, trying to make sense of being returned to the place he once left.
The silver lining is that Prince warms up to people quickly. He’s naturally affectionate, well-trained, and comfortable in all kinds of social settings.
“He’s a very sweet boy, housebroken, crate trained, and very good with everyone he meets. While his photos do not do him justice, he’s kinda sleek and kinda scruffy all in one. He’s been bounced around a bit while his previous owner traveled and has adjusted wonderfully each time,” the rescue adds.
Hopefully, Prince’s stay will be brief.
He’s already used to spacious living and home life; the shelter environment isn’t ideal for him. Prince and his devoted rescuers are holding out hope that his perfect family is just around the corner—ready to love and keep him forever this time.
Good luck, sweet boy!
