One of them is Roseanna, a three-year-old shelter dog who understands suffering more than most.
Thankfully, there are still people who care deeply and are willing to fight for dogs like her.
A Painful Arrival And A Tough Diagnosis
Roseanna was three years old when she was brought to Maricopa County Animal Care and Control East Shelter in Mesa, Arizona.
The shelter staff had seen many difficult cases, but Roseanna’s condition was especially heartbreaking. This Pit Bull arrived in poor shape, and her appearance shocked everyone.
She had severe skin irritation, significant hair loss, and was overweight. It didn’t take long for the team to determine she had hypothyroidism, as her symptoms matched the disease.
Along with these health issues, Roseanna was also deaf, which made her situation even more challenging.
Despite everything she had endured, Roseanna remained gentle and full of warmth. Her spirit showed she wasn’t ready to give up.
Her resilience inspired the shelter staff to do everything they could to give her a better future.
A Shelter’s Love And A Dog’s Hope
Everyone who cared for Roseanna worked tirelessly to improve her life and bring her joy. She was given everything she needed, along with the kind of love that heals from the inside out.
Staff described her as a sweet and affectionate dog who always managed to smile, even in the face of hardship. They also noted that she was potty trained, kennel trained, and walked well on a leash.
All of these qualities make her more than deserving of a permanent home. But since she’s still at the shelter in Mesa, Arizona, the team asked for donations to support her medical treatment, emphasizing that every contribution matters.
Still, they remain hopeful that Roseanna’s time at the shelter is nearing its end. They believe her happy ending is close, thanks to the kindness of people who care.
