Shy California Dog Rescued Just Hours Before Euthanasia Celebrates Life With Adorable Zoomies

Sometimes, one chance is enough for a dog’s life to change completely. Rosie, a dog rescued from a California shelter, would definitely agree if she could speak!

After living a not-so-great life at a breeder’s, this sweet girl’s life took an even worse turn. She was left at the shelter as a “pregnant” dog, just days away from euthanasia.

Fortunately, her story didn’t end there. Thanks to kind-hearted people who gave her a chance, Rosie is now out there, doing adorable zoomies that have become her trademark.

Rosie’s Zoomies Are A Total Hit

Thanks to Love At First Mutt Rescue from Los Angeles, California, Rosie was saved from an overcrowded shelter on the day of her scheduled euthanasia.

Her previous owner left her there after thinking she was pregnant. As it turned out, Rosie was just in her post-breeding phase, not carrying puppies.

The rescue matched her with an amazing foster, where Rosie spent eight months adjusting to normal life.

“She was rescued from the euth list by @loveatfirstmutt in Feb 2024 after being abandoned at the animal shelter post breeding. Since being rescued she lived with an amazing foster mama until we (Jenn & Travis) officially adopted her,” Jenn, Rosie’s new mom, wrote on Instagram.

And, when her time to get adopted finally arrived, she couldn’t be happier!

Despite her previous trauma and the fact that she was a shy dog, Rosie immediately fell in love with Jenn and Travis.

“She is a shy girl but total lover with her favorite people,” Jenn added.

She started doing hilarious zoomies to show her excitement, and her family couldn’t get enough. She’d go outside, sniff and observe for a bit, and then go straight into her “zoomie mode.”

Ever since her rescue, Rosie’s zoomies have become her signature move!

However, Rosie’s happiness reached a whole new level the day she got her very own, dog and zoomie-friendly yard.

“For the last 6+ months since adopting Rosie, our yard wasn’t complete so she had never been out there before! We finally had the yard done, with the full intention of it being her zoomie zone,” Jenn shared.

Rosie couldn’t be more excited about the zoomie zone. Every day, she rushes outside and then runs up and down, just genuinely enjoying the fact that now she has her own space.

Living Her New Life To The Fullest

It is safe to say that Rosie has definitely found her perfect place. With Jenn and Travis, she gets to enjoy all the things she missed out on in the past.

While she is still shy about new things, Rosie’s progress is truly remarkable!

“It takes some extra encouragement for her to take those first scary steps to trust what’s in front of her but once she does, it’s always worth it!! She’s come such a long way,” Rosie’s mom concluded.

Now, she plays, takes cozy naps, goes on exciting adventures, and meets new friends, all with the biggest smile on her face.

Rosie is finally happy!
