Senior Shelter Pup Keeps Hoping That Someone Will Notice Her As She Watches People Pass Her By

Every shelter dog longs to feel loved and to find their place under the sun.

Lassie, a sweet senior pup, yearned to meet her humans who would give her a ton of love, but sadly, she got overlooked time and time again.

Although Lassie often felt sad because potential adopters ignored her, the canine didn’t let herself feel discouraged. Her heart shined with a ray of hope that one day, she would get her happy ending.

As the pup expected her new family to appear around the corner, she looked closely at the people who passed by her kennel.

Will anyone finally notice her and bring a smile to her adorable face?

Lassie’s Story

The dog arrived at Providence Animal Center from a shelter in Kentucky.

According to Pennsylvania law, all dogs and puppies who enter the shelter system have to spend two weeks in quarantine.

Some dogs have a hard time being isolated from other shelter residents, but that wasn’t the case with Lassie.

During her two-week stay at the shelter’s puppy room, the staff observed Lassie’s behavior and realized that she used to be a puppy mill dog.

Every time Lassie noticed new puppies arriving at the shelter, she wanted to check up on them and make sure they were alright.

“She must have had puppies herself because when we were doing the puppies intake exams we had to show her each puppy after or she got upset,” said Giana Sabatino, a shelter worker at the Providence Animal Center.

Hoping to Find Loving Humans

Lassie’s future family needs to know that the lovely pooch deals with a few health conditions, which can be kept under control.

The canine was diagnosed with Lyme disease, arthritis, heartworm, and dental issues.

“… When she was spayed they did a mass removal from her mammary gland. She has poor eyesight but her hearing isn’t too bad,” Sabatino added.

This sweet doggo is looking for a loving and patient family who would give her the care that she needs.

Although the staff is aware that senior canines like Lassie have a hard time finding a home, they believe that her humans will find her.

Lassie’s ideal forever home would be a peaceful household where she could enjoy her senior years.

The delightful dog hopes that someone will finally notice her and take her home. She can’t wait to shower her parents with unconditional love.
