Sade roamed around the streets, struggling to survive.
Although she endured hunger and loneliness, she held onto the hope that one day she would find happiness.
Fortunately, some Good Samaritans found her. They were delighted with her sweet disposition and they wanted to keep her.
However, since the good people traveled a lot, they decided to take Sade to The Humane Society of Broward County in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Arriving at the shelter gave Sade new hope that someone would notice her and give her the fresh start she longed for.
She was eager to pour all her love into the forever family she dreamed of.
Waiting For Someone To Notice
The staff cared for Sade deeply, giving her the affection and encouragement she needed as the days passed.
But even after months of waiting, no adopters showed interest in her.
Whenever visitors came through the shelter doors, Sade pressed close to her kennel gate, her eyes pleading for a chance.
Instead, she watched puppies from the nearby kennels capture all the attention. Families walked right past her without a glance.
The shelter later posted a video of Sade, showing her quietly observing as puppy after puppy left with their new homes.
The sweet dog lowered her head to the ground, lying there in silence, unsure how much longer her wait would be.
The staff’s hearts ached seeing her overlooked time and again.
They knew Sade was everything a family could hope for in a dog. She loved her walks, cherished cuddle time, and was full of affection.
“Beautiful girl Sade is still waiting for a forever home 🙏 Sadly, this is the reality for many adult dogs 😔 While the puppies get adopted quickly, our wonderful adult dogs can wait months to find a family,” the Humane Society of Broward County shared on their social media.
A Future Filled With Joy
Sade’s story quickly touched countless people online.
Only a few days after her video was posted, her wait finally came to an end.
A family who had met Sade while volunteering at the Florida shelter realized they couldn’t leave without her.
The smiling pup beamed with happiness as her new humans came to take her home at last.
Sade’s days of being ignored were over. She now had the love and safety she always longed for.
Although Sade found her perfect family, many other amazing shelter dogs continue to be passed over in favor of younger ones.
Her journey is a reminder that every dog, no matter their age, size, or breed, deserves the chance to be loved.
