Let’s be honest… who hasn’t pretended to be under the weather at least once in their lifetime, right? Maybe to skip a boring class or to avoid an unpleasant social gathering? Or, in Rambo’s case – to be likeable and earn a forever home!

In this case, a Great Pyrenees is the main con artist, and his reason for deception is just too adorable to ignore. Rambo, a 10-year-old shelter pup, faked being feeble just to secure himself a nice, loving home where he can spend his golden years!
Deceptive Or Hilarious?
I know what you’re thinking – how could a dog deceive absolutely everyone at the shelter? The truth is, it happened because Rambo is apparently an exquisite actor!
This big boy arrived at the Humane Society of Monroe County in Michigan with his sibling, Diesel, after their family could no longer care for them. At ten years of age, Rambo’s life as he knew it crumbled.
Then, another shock unfolded.
Diesel soon found a forever home, leaving Rambo all alone.
The heartbreak Rambo and his caregivers felt was beyond words. He became depressed, and even barely walked without wobbling, which made the staff believe Rambo would need a hospice home where he could spend the rest of his life.
As his chances of being adopted became minimal, Morgan, one of the volunteers, offered to take Rambo home. She wanted to provide him with a safe, peaceful environment where he could rest.
But then, Rambo shocked everyone to the core! Not only did he adjust to Morgan’s home perfectly – he actually started to act like a puppy! He ran, jumped, and walked as if nothing had happened.
“He is a 10 year old feeble old man who could hardly walk. We sent him home with two lovely ladies to live out the last of his life. But Rambo is a big, fat fibber! He jumped a fence, he chases balls and he plays! The shame,” the Michigan rescue wrote in the post.
It turns out, Rambo’s caregivers have been bamboozled by his perfect acting skills, and the shelter’s followers found it hilarious!
“Look at his face.. he has no shame,” one person commented.
“The stubbornness of a Pyrenees is powerful lol! I love when hospice dogs bamboozle everyone,” another added.
Living His Golden Years To The Fullest
Rambo’s hauntingly adorable con earned him the status of a cuddlebug, and he couldn’t be happier. After all this time, he finally found a forever home.
Despite being a good actor, the truth is, Rambo is the sweetest dog who loves nothing more than being around people.
“He loves everyone and is just the sweetest senior man,” the rescue stated in another post.
Thanks to Morgan, who decided to keep this gentle giant for good, Rambo now has a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years.
He loves to chase balls, play with his family, walk, and cuddle, which makes him the perfect companion.
Now that he has a home to stay in, Rambo no longer needs to fake anything. But who knows… maybe he has some other trick up his sleeve just to entertain his admirers. We’ll see!
