Senior Dog Surrendered To Georgia Shelter Was Facing Euthanasia Until Something Miraculous Happened

Tigger was a sweet senior dog who deserved to spend his golden years with his family, enjoying life and making wonderful memories.

Unfortunately, his owners didn’t think the same way.

One day, they surrendered Tigger to a shelter in Atlanta, Georgia. The twelve-year-old doggo didn’t understand why they left him behind. All he knew was that a narrow shelter kennel became his new home.

As he lay on the floor, his eyes filled with sadness. Never in his life had he felt lonelier and more confused.

Placed On Euthanasia List

Heartbreakingly, since the Georgia shelter he was in was overcrowded, Tigger was placed on the euthanasia list. He didn’t know it, but he only had a few hours left.

When Erica Perets, the founder of the nonprofit RescueMeATL, heard about Tigger and that nobody showed any interest in him, she decided to visit him.

She hoped to create social media content that would help him escape his situation.

When this kind woman met Tigger, her heart sank. He was sleeping and Perets was sorry to wake him up. She knew that his dreams were the escape from the harsh reality he faced.

“So when I saw Tigger, I almost didn’t wake him, because his dreams had to be better than here,” the Instagram caption read.

As soon as the doggo saw her, he made an effort to get up. He was excited because someone came to see him.

However, his legs gave out and he slid helplessly across the kennel floor.

Perets couldn’t help feeling heartbroken for the dog. With her whole heart, she wished he could get another shot at happiness and live a comfortable life.

“… All I could think about is that he deserved beds, yoga mats, and warm baths, instead of achey bones, slipper floors, and crying dogs,” Perets added.

The kind-hearted woman shared a video of Tigger on Instagram as he walks in an outdoor shelter kennel, wagging his tail. Despite his hardships, the dog showed that he was a fighter.

The wonderful woman ended the post with a heartfelt and urgent plea.

“If you can give 12-year-old Tigger his senior years he deserves please come quickly because he’s out of time. Deadline tomorrow Thursday 6/26 at 7 p.m.”

Luckily, the plea resonated with many people who offered to help Tigger.

One of them was a kind-hearted person who gave him a forever home and promised to make him happy.

Tigger was overjoyed to meet his forever human
