Jackie was adopted from a shelter when she was just a young puppy, and she truly believed she had found her forever home.
After many happy years with her owner, everything changed. Jackie’s beloved human passed away, and the dog lost the person she cared for most.
The owner’s family didn’t want to take in the sweet dog, so they surrendered her to a shelter in Miami, Florida.
At twelve years old, Jackie was once again behind shelter bars, longing for her old life and mourning her owner.
Jackie’s Glimmer Of Hope

At the same time, a kind woman named Kristen Brown was enduring one of the hardest times in her life. Her beloved dog, Luna, had passed away after battling a brain tumor.
Brown and her fiancée hoped to welcome another dog eventually, but they needed time to process their loss.
Then, another tragedy struck. Brown’s father took his own life, leaving her devastated.
Seeking a way to cope with her grief, Brown decided to visit a local shelter, adopt a dog, and give that dog all the love she could.
She hoped that in giving love to a shelter dog, she might begin to heal herself.
When Brown arrived at the shelter, she asked to meet the oldest dog there. The staff led her to Jackie’s kennel and explained that the senior dog was on the euthanasia list.
When Jackie saw Brown, she gazed at her with sad eyes, as if trying to share her story of loss.

Brown promised Jackie she would save her and give her a fresh start.
Jackie had multiple health issues. She was suffering from bronchitis and had a lump on her leg.
She also had a severe ear infection that had gone untreated for a year, leaving her ear canal completely closed.
None of this discouraged Brown from adopting her. She was eager to take Jackie home and help her heal.
The Fresh Start Jackie Needed

Jackie could hardly believe it when her new mom came to pick her up. The moment she realized she was leaving the shelter, her tail began wagging and her face lit up with a wide smile.
Brown took her to the vet, where Jackie received treatment for her ear infection.
Tests later showed the lump on her leg was benign.
Jackie quickly filled Brown’s home with love and joy.

Brown believes that Luna and her late father brought Jackie into her life to help heal her heart.
Thanks to medical care and endless affection from her new mom, Jackie’s health improved. Her ear infection cleared up, and her bronchitis became manageable after Brown got her an inhaler.

Once a heartbroken senior dog awaiting euthanasia, Jackie is now a happy girl spending her golden years in her Miami home.
A big thank you goes to Brown for giving Jackie Lynn the chance to be the happiest dog in the world.
