Recently, Chloé Kelleher, a proud Golden Retriever owner from Southern California, experienced a touching realization, one her dog, Hank, had been secretly hiding for months.
Apparently, this sweet senior boi had been sleeping in the very same spot on the floor. The minute Chloé discovered the real reason, she was moved to her core!
Tear-Jerking Moments Caught On Camera
During the last six months, Hank, an almost twelve-year-old Goldie, has been sleeping on the floor downstairs. Due to his age, he was no longer able to climb the stairs. So, instead of accompanying his owner in the bedroom, Hank settled for a nice, comfy spot near the stairs.
But why did he exactly choose this very spot?
Chloé kept wondering for days, trying to find a rational explanation. Then, it finally hit her!
One morning, she opened her bedroom door on the first floor, only to realize that the first thing she sees is Hank. His sleeping spot was situated so perfectly that he could see his mom the minute she opened the door.
The California owner couldn’t hide her emotions. She captured a few videos of Hank “locking eyes with her” in those cute moments and shared them with her TikTok community.
Finally, this unresolved “sleeping spot” mystery came to an end! And the result was beyond adorable.
“Hank can’t get up the stairs anymore, so this is his new favorite spot. I always wondered why out of the whole entire house he chooses this spot to lay in…Until I realized…He can see my bedroom door from this spot,” Chloé wrote in the video.
It didn’t take long for the video to reach thousands of people across the country. People were thrilled to see how much Hank actually loved his mom.
Soon enough, this Golden senior became a social media sensation, with his mom posting cute daily videos of him on her official account.
Hank Is The Bestest Boi
In less than a month, Hank is turning twelve – and his mom couldn’t be more proud, and more emotional. The fact that her soul dog reached the autumn of his life is bittersweet.
Chloé has had Hank since he was a puppy, and seeing him slow down over the years is truly a reminder of how precious every moment with him has become, as well as how quickly time flies!
Still, Hank is the very same boi he has been.
He loves the same stuffed toys (he’s had the same ones since he was a puppy, which only shows how well he treats them). He loves holding hands with his momma. And he wears the same hauntingly adorable slippers because of the hardwood floors.
Sometimes, he loves to make “goofy and awkward” eye contact with his mom just to get her attention.
“Sometimes Hank will shyly come and sit by me, awkwardly trying to make eye contact to get my attention and it’s so cute,” Chloé wrote in another post.
It is safe to say that Hank truly enjoys his golden years. He doesn’t care much about other dogs, although he loves people. But the thing he loves most is taking cozy naps and getting delicious, well-deserved treats.
