Rottweilers are known for their strength and loyalty, a powerful breed with roots tracing back to the Roman legions. So, it might seem almost impossible to imagine one being scared of a tiny puppy no bigger than his head.
As funny as it sounds, one gentle giant from this noble breed found himself completely unsure of what to do when faced with a small pup who only wanted to play!
But once he realized her playful intentions, something beautiful happened, a lasting friendship was born.
This sweet tale will warm your heart… and probably make you laugh out loud.
The Couch Became His Safe Haven

Dozer, a lovable Rottweiler, shared a peaceful bond with his canine sister, Lilah. The two had settled into a calm and balanced life together.
That all changed when their mom, Kimberly Ward, introduced a new furry family member to their home in Claremore, Oklahoma.
A tiny French Bulldog named Daisy instantly turned things upside down—especially for Dozer.
From the moment Daisy arrived, she was enamored with her big brother. She followed him around, eager to play. But Dozer wasn’t quite sure how to handle her enthusiasm.
“The first couple of days, he was kind of scared of her,” Kimberly Ward told The Dodo. “She was so tiny and outgoing and charismatic … She wanted to play with him all the time, but he didn’t know that he could be a puppy.”
The more Dozer tried to avoid her, the more determined Daisy became to win him over. He soon discovered his only refuge was the couch. Daisy was too small to reach him there.

And for those first few days, that high-up perch became his sanctuary.
She Helped Him Rediscover His Inner Puppy

But Daisy wasn’t giving up that easily. Her persistence was unwavering. She danced around him, nipped at his paws, and barked playfully until Dozer finally gave in.
“The first time that he ran with her and figured out that she would chase him, it was on,” Ward said. “He figured out that he could be interactive with her.”
From that moment on, their friendship blossomed. Even though Daisy had energy to spare and then some, Dozer made every effort to keep up.
They’d race through the living room, dash around the yard, and even play hide-and-seek under the bed.
Most impressive of all, Dozer never once acted rough. “He knew that he was supposed to be gentle with her and that she was tiny,” Ward said.

Somehow, this playful little Frenchie managed to draw out a side of Dozer no one had seen before. Her favorite way to show love—through play—was exactly the language he needed to hear.
The New Sister Fit Right In

Though Daisy settled into the family perfectly and bonded closely with Dozer, Ward sensed she needed a playmate with her same energy level.
Before long, their household welcomed another furry member—Mocha, affectionately nicknamed Mini Mo. She was another Frenchie and the ideal companion for Daisy and a sweet little sister to the Rottweilers.
From day one, Daisy and Mocha were inseparable.
“I bet they play and wrestle and run and chase each other two or three hours a day,” Ward said. “It’s incredible.”
As Mocha grew, she developed her own personality: quieter than Daisy, and a big fan of snuggles. But just like Daisy, she loved playing with her big brothers.
Dozer remained his gentle self, even letting Mini Mo win at tug-of-war on occasion.
They all became a joyful, close-knit pack.

And when asked whether the family has considered bringing yet another pup into the mix, Ward smiled and said, “There’s always the possibility of a tinier sister or brother.”
With Dozer and Daisy around, the more the merrier!
