What could possibly drive someone to mistreat a pup so badly that they end up looking like skin and bones? I have never understood people who took in dogs only to neglect them.
If you don’t need or care for pups, don’t bother getting one. They might be better off somewhere else with people who will care for them.
Situations like this often lead to the dog ending up on the street when the owners don’t want them anymore and then they have to struggle on their own.
When this severely malnourished dog was first found by New York rescuers from AMA Animal Rescue, she was so weak that she could barely move. Luckily, her life would change completely after this.
Kiki Was Struggling For So Long
After finding Kiki, the rescuers wasted no time. She had suffered for so long and so much that she didn’t have strength to keep going.
I can’t even begin to comprehend why some people would insist on keeping a pup only to starve it like this. She didn’t deserve any of this.
The New York rescuers rushed her to the shelter where they could help her at least a little bit, but they knew that she would need more than this.
In order to help her heal and gain confidence again, she would need to be in a loving home with someone who could monitor her health improvements.
The rescuers gave her a new chance by finding a wonderful foster family for her, and then her entire life changed in an instant.
Even though she was still weak, it meant a lot that she finally had people who cared for her. They were doing everything they could to help her regain some of her weight slowly.
Kiki Has Found Her Forever Home
The process will take a long time, but it will help Kiki transform into a beautiful dog. She is regaining a lot of her strength, and that is good progress.
Her mood is improving and she is slowly starting to play around the house. She would always do it with her foster parents, as they always made her feel so special.
Anytime her mom came home, she would immediately rush to her for cuddles. Kiki felt so loved in her presence. The two of them formed a bond instantly.
Because they cared so much for each other, Kiki’s foster mom knew that she just couldn’t let her go. The two of them are meant to stay together.
So, Kiki now has a forever home with the people who already showed her how amazing life can be when you are surrounded by amazing people.
It’s really heartwarming to know how a story that had such a sad start ended up with a heartwarming ending. It always restores my faith in humanity when I see kind people helping animals.
