In a lot of abandonment cases, owners tend to abandon dogs for no particular reason. There are just people who don’t care and don’t think a pup’s life is important.
So, they will cruelly dump them on the street to survive on their own, or even worse, the dogs will be left near a dangerous or isolated area to starve.
Fortunately, a lot of kind and compassionate people still exist and they are ready to help dogs who need them at any moment.
When this sweet dog was abandoned by her owner, she was reported to the Texas rescuers immediately, so they went to help.
Heartbreaking Sign
After the rescuers from Saving Hope Rescue (SHR) in Fort Worth rushed to the scene, they were completely heartbroken by what was in front of them.
The pup was just standing in front of a building as if she was waiting for something. She still believed that her owner would come back.
She had belongings with her when she was first reported, but somebody took them and left the dog there.
When the rescuers got close to the dog, they saw a sign on a trash can where she was tied up. It said: “I need a good home.”
In situations like this, it’s hard to really even blame the owner. Whoever had this dog probably wanted a good future for her, which is why she was left in a crowded area with this sign.
It’s safe to assume that the person just couldn’t afford surrendering a dog and was hoping that somebody would take her and give her a better life.
A lot of people wouldn’t even bother to do that. They’d just leave the dog anywhere and go. Shortly after this happened, the pup was taken to the SHR in Texas.
She was named Hopeful. The kind rescuers are hoping that she will find a home as soon as possible.
Community Reactions
When everything unfolded, the SHR rescuers wanted to document Hopeful’s story, so they uploaded it to their social media.
It gained a lot of attention, but most of it was through their Instagram page where a lot of people shared their thoughts on the matter.
One person commented: “What a heartbreaking gentle sit. I’m so glad you saved this sweet dog: thank you.”
Yeah, Hopeful looked like she was still waiting for her owner, even when the rescuers showed up to save her. She didn’t want to believe that she had been abandoned.
Another person said: “People are desperate and so are their circumstances. It’s all so devastating. Thank you wonderful people for showing up.”
Of course, we don’t know Hopeful’s backstory. It’s hard to say what drove her owner to do this, but she definitely cares for her dog considering she left her with her belongings and a pleading sign.
Lastly, somebody commented: “Can you imagine being tied up to a trash can? These babies experience more pain than anything in life and it’s unexcusable. Thank you for rescue him.”
Well, I believe the reason she was left there was because it was a crowded area and it almost guaranteed that she would be rescued fast.
Nevertheless, Hopeful is doing well now and the rescuers believe that she will find a forever-home soon. That’s all that matters now.
