On what seemed like just another routine rescue, Suzette Hall had no idea she was about to face an unexpected twist.
She arrived in the parking lot of a California shelter, ready to rescue a dog seen wandering along a nearby road.
Thankfully, that mission went off without a hitch.
As Hall made her way toward the shelter doors to notify the staff that the dog was now safe, something unusual caught her eye, and brought her to a sudden halt.
Just outside the entrance, two cardboard boxes were sitting still… until they started to move.
Two Frightened Little Faces
Curious, Hall noticed that both boxes were sealed tightly with tape, but had small holes punched into the sides.
As she stepped closer, she was stunned to see a little nose sticking out through one of the openings. Without hesitation, she sprang into action.
Together with the shelter staff, she carefully opened the boxes, revealing two small, frightened puppies inside, looking confused and unsure of what was happening.
At that moment, the tiny pups had no idea that they’d been left behind by their family.
Sadly, it’s not uncommon for pet owners to abandon dogs outside of shelters to avoid paying surrender fees.
Hall was relieved that she happened to be there at just the right moment. The shelter was already overcrowded, and she knew it wouldn’t be the ideal place for these pups.
Determined to give them a better future, she brought them along with her, knowing they’d be safer under the care of Logan’s Legacy 29.
“It was honestly a little miracle that I was there, because they had taken them to the wrong shelter. I was able to get them to just surrender them to me,” Hall shared on Facebook.
Finally Safe And Cared For
Hall gently comforted the shaken puppies, a boy and a girl, whispering reassurances and wrapping them in warm cuddles.
The pups, later named Eve and Forrest, quickly began to feel her kindness and started to relax.
Once they were in Hall’s car, a sense of calm washed over them.
“They are so incredibly sweet, oh my goodness gracious,” Hall added.
She brought Eve and Forrest to the vet for a full checkup. Thankfully, both were in good health. They just needed time to rest and feel secure.
Not long after, the pair were placed in a loving foster home where they’re now spoiled with love and attention.
Their fosters have gone above and beyond to make them feel treasured.
Eve and Forrest are now waiting to meet their forever families and begin the next joyful chapter of their lives.
After being so cruelly discarded, these sweet pups finally know what it means to be cared for, and they’ll never be abandoned again.
