Arizona Rescuers Received A Call About Mama Dog With 9 Babies, Only To Be Shocked By Her Unusual Appearance

It’s not every day that you run into a dog who has been so severely mistreated that you need to call rescuers for help.

Situations like this are rare, but it’s always important to react to them because it’s moments like these that can change a dog’s whole life.

A group of Good Samaritans did just that in this story when they saw a mama dog with an unusual appearance who needed their help.

Without a moment wasted, they immediately called the Arizona Humane Society, and they responded right away.

What An Unusual Appearance

After the rescuers got the call for help, they rushed to the location without knowing what to expect. Shortly after their arrival, they were shocked by what they discovered.

There was a mama dog named Rainbow Brite who was on a very short leash, along with her nine babies. They had no water or food. The conditions they were living in were just horrifying.

To make matters even worse for the dogs, it was extremely hot in Arizona, so they had to deal with the blistering heat the entire day.

What made the rescuers pause even more was the fact that this pup actually had a distinctive leopard-print coat coloring.

Basically, someone tried to make her look like a leopard. The rescuers went to the owners and asked them if they wanted to surrender the pups, considering that they were not living in good conditions.

They agreed and stated that they had no clue how to care for so many of them. It’s unknown how the pup got those spots or what the story behind the owners was, but the important thing is that the dogs were saved.

The Arizona rescuers took them to the AHS Lazin Animal Foundation Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital. It was one of the largest hospitals for homeless pets in the U.S.A.

Their Health Has Stabilized

After taking the dog family there, the veterinarians were able to bring down the mama dog’s temperature a little bit.

Aside from the temperature, she was also underweight, so they did their best to provide her with food and water in order to slowly regain her weight.

The good news was that the medical situation was stabilizing, and the entire family will likely make a recovery. Considering what they went through, it’s a relief that everything turned out the way it did.

Shortly after their recovery, they were all transferred to the AHS Mutternity Suites, and the rescuers did their best to share Rainbow Brite’s story online.

They are hoping that this will help raise awareness about her story. The rescuers are hopeful that the entire family will eventually find a forever home.

In the meantime, they were sent to a foster home with good people where they would get accustomed to living an ordinary life.

Since the puppies are still very small, they are not ready for vaccinations, which is why they still need a little more time before they are placed on the adoption list.

However, when that happens, let’s all hope that they get to live a much better life with people who will actually care for them.
