Dogs only want a safe home and someone who cares. Sadly, many never receive the love they deserve.
In a heartbreaking case from Austin, Texas, a four-week-old Husky was heartlessly tossed into a trash can and abandoned to suffer in silence.
Though weak and near the point of no return, the little fighter cried out, clinging to hope that someone might hear.
A Stranger Hears Cries For Help

By sheer luck, a passerby heard faint whimpers coming from the garbage bin and went to investigate. What they found was shocking: a helpless Husky pup barely hanging on.
The puppy, later named Kiss, was cold and nearly lifeless. Without thinking twice, the kind stranger scooped him up and rushed him to an emergency vet.
Veterinarians discovered his blood sugar was so dangerously low it couldn’t be measured. He was too frail even to eat.
The medical team acted quickly, providing fluids and warming his fragile body. Kiss couldn’t lift his head, but he was still determined to survive.
The Fight To Save His Life Continues

By the next morning, Kiss had been transferred to Austin Animal Center for ongoing care.
Because his condition was critical, he was soon moved to Austin Pets Alive! (APA!)for more intensive treatment.
At APA!, veterinarians worked tirelessly to stabilize him, restoring his blood sugar, rehydrating him, and starting antibiotics.

“In a private clinic, care like this would cost over $1,000. At APA!, we do everything we can to keep that cost lower for pets like Kiss — but it’s still a heavy lift…” Austin Pets Alive! wrote in a Facebook post.
Kiss’s story spread quickly online, sparking outrage over the cruelty he endured and admiration for the compassion of the stranger and medical team fighting for him.
Now Kiss needs a foster home in Central Texas, someone to help him heal and gain strength. Once he’s fully recovered, this resilient pup will be ready to meet the forever family he deserves.
Because of the fast actions of a Good Samaritan and the devotion of rescue workers, Kiss has been given a second chance at life.
