In many abandonment cases, dogs are left behind by owners who never cared for them to begin with.
They’re discarded when it suits the person best, left frightened and unsure how to cope after their trust has been shattered.
That’s the unfortunate way some dogs are let go. But sometimes, an owner leaves behind a note or a message, giving rescuers something to work with.
That was the case for this little pup, found with a note after being left alone by her former owner.
What Was On The Note?
Before being abandoned on the Kansas streets, Jade had been adopted from a shelter and was finally settling into a new home.
She thought her troubles were over and that life was going to be good. Sadly, things didn’t turn out that way.
Only three days after her adoption, she was back outside again. Her owner left her on the street.
She was spotted by Animal Control Officers in the area, who found a note with her that read: “Looking for good home to avoid pound.”
The Great Plains SPCA in Kansas stepped in to help her, and the team was deeply affected by her situation.
They hoped she’d start to feel safe now that she was back in shelter care. But that wasn’t what happened. Jade was anxious and on edge.
Jade Shows Progress With Foster Family
Her stress worsened with time, and after months in the shelter, her condition didn’t improve. Rescuers realized she needed something else.
They searched for a foster and eventually found a wonderful match. When Jade moved in with them, everything changed.
Her foster family gave positive updates. They said she was thriving, like a whole new dog.
Everyone at the shelter was thrilled to hear it. She had become playful and curious, enjoying time outdoors and playing with her toys.
Jade also proved herself well-behaved, making her a strong candidate for adoption when the right person comes along.
Her foster parents have shown she’s a joy to be around, and they hope someone soon sees her for who she is.
While she waits, Jade remains in foster care. Her rescue team is doing all they can to make sure she finds the perfect place to call home.
