In many cases of animal abandonment, dogs are left behind by people who never truly cared for them.
They are discarded when it is most convenient, left frightened and unsure how to survive once their trust has been broken.
That is the sad reality for many dogs who lose their homes. But sometimes, an owner leaves behind a note or a message, giving rescuers a glimpse into what happened.
That is exactly what happened to this little pup, who was found alone with a note after being left by her owner.
The Note That Told Her Story
Before being left on the streets of Kansas, Jade had just been adopted from a shelter and was finally beginning to settle into her new home.
It seemed like her difficult days were behind her and that life was about to get better. Unfortunately, things changed very quickly.
Only three days after her adoption, Jade was back outside again. Her owner had abandoned her on the street.
Animal Control Officers soon found her wandering and noticed a note that read: “Looking for good home to avoid pound.”
The Great Plains SPCA in Kansas took her in and was deeply moved by her story. The team hoped Jade would begin to feel safe now that she was back under their care.
However, things did not go as smoothly as expected. Jade was anxious and unsettled, struggling to adjust to life in the shelter once more.
A Second Chance In Foster Care
As time passed, Jade’s stress only grew worse. After several months, rescuers realized she needed a different environment to recover.
They searched for a foster home and eventually found a suitable match. Once Jade moved in, everything began to change.
Her foster family shared encouraging updates, saying that she was thriving and seemed like a completely different dog.
Everyone at the shelter was thrilled to hear how well she was doing. Jade became playful, curious, and started enjoying her toys and time outdoors.
She also showed herself to be gentle and well-behaved, making her a strong candidate for adoption when the right person comes along.
Her foster parents describe her as a joy to be around and hope someone soon recognizes how special she is.
Until that happens, Jade remains in foster care while her rescue team continues working to find her a forever home where she will finally be loved and secure.
