I love heartwarming dog stories. They always brighten my day and I am sure they do for many other people.
There’s something wholesome about many people coming together to help a dog who needs them. This changes their lives in inconceivable ways and we are all here for the good news.
Like this story, for example. A group of rescuers from Ohio found a dog on the street. They first thought that he was a stray.
However, further investigation led them to making a shocking discovery that forever changed the pup’s life. This is his story.
He Had A Microchip?
When Cleveland Animal Care and Control saved a beautiful dog on the street, they immediately took him in because they had no clue that he belonged to anybody.
As usual, they performed the standard examination which led them to discover a microchip. This was just great news for them.
They immediately called the owner on the phone and he told them that the pup had actually been missing for a full year.
The owner never gave up hope, however, and he kept looking for him all that time. At a moment’s notice, the man rushed to pick up his dog.
When he came to the shelter in Ohio, the rescuers took the dog from the kennel and reunited him with his owner. It was a truly wholesome moment.
The pup started wagging his tail uncontrollably and hugging his owner. He was so happy that he didn’t even know how to react. It all just overwhelmed him in a moment.
Wholesome Reactions On Instagram
After the rescuers reunited the dog with his owner, they published this short story on their instagram account where it received a lot of attention.
One person commented: “So many happy tears! I can’t imagine the relief this man felt having his best friend back.”
Moments like this are rare, but when they happen, it’s truly an emotional reunion that is hard to describe in words.
Another person said: “They both kept hoping.. unbelievable i cant imagine the longing they both had.. such a happy story and it touches home for all of us dog moms and daddos.”
What amazes me is how relieved the dog was. It’s like he hadn’t felt that happy in a long time, and you can really just tell how much he loved his dad.
Lastly, somebody commented: “You all make my world a better place with every post. We need your sensibilities, your organizational skills and your hearts in the world of animal shelters.”
I agree with this and I believe every organization should strive to post more wholesome moments like this because it can always lead to more awareness about missing dogs and strays in general.
