Life can be especially harsh for stray puppies who have no one to look after them. Surviving on their own is already a struggle, but when those puppies have special needs, the challenge becomes almost impossible.
Sadly, unethical breeders often abandon dogs they consider “useless,” leaving them to face the world with little chance of survival. Countless fragile lives are lost this way, and many never even get the opportunity to know love or safety.
Fortunately, for one group of special needs puppies in Minnesota, fate had something brighter in store. Their journey took a turn for the better when compassionate rescuers stepped in.
A Fortunate Rescue
Volunteers from Emotional Rescue, a Minnesota-based group that specializes in caring for dogs with medical or behavioral challenges, came across a litter of puppies who could not stop shaking. Without hesitation, they scooped them up and brought them to safety.
These puppies were incredibly lucky. Because the organization focuses on dogs with extra needs, they were exactly where they needed to be.
After an initial exam at the shelter, the team discovered the pups were suffering from Shaking Puppy Syndrome, also called hypomyelination.
The condition often appears during activity such as eating or playing, but the trembling eases when the puppies are resting.
While there is currently no cure, most puppies improve as they grow, with symptoms fading within a year. Some dogs may retain only minor twitching, but it does not prevent them from living normal lives.
With proper care and a safe environment, all five puppies are now doing well. Their rescuers are confident that in time, each one will be healthy enough to find a loving forever family.

Not long after the rescue, Emotional Rescue shared a video of the puppies on TikTok. The clip quickly spread, drawing both sympathy and encouragement from viewers everywhere.

The truth is that they do. The tremors subside when the puppies are lying down, and they usually only begin again during light activity or mealtimes. Their bodies are able to rest, which is why their rescuers are optimistic about their recovery.

Although the constant shaking looks worrying, the pups are resilient. They nap often, regain their energy, and will likely outgrow the worst of the condition.
