It’s disheartening how we, as people, can sometimes be completely oblivious to the problems of stray animals that live all around us, whether it’s on the street or in parks.
When you think about it, if even one person invested a little time in helping abandoned or stray dogs by calling for help, then so much would change instantly.
But that is not the case. A lot of people just willingly choose to ignore this issue, thinking that somebody else will step in and help them.
And that is flawed thinking. The proper way would be to react immediately, just as these Good Samaritans did when they discovered two abandoned pit bulls in the park. Their reaction was shocking.
How Did They End Up Here?

After first receiving information about the abandoned dogs in the park, Paulla King, rushed to find them at the park in Oklahoma.
She discovered that there was an older pup and a younger one. The older one was named Violet, and the young dog was believed to be her daughter.
Paulla saw that the small pup was eating food left there by strangers. She immediately took them to the vet, but it was clear that Violet was the priority because she was seriously malnourished.
She had both mental and physical trauma all over her body and she likely hadn’t eaten in a long time. She was so skinny that you could see her bones.

Paulla tried to find out more about what happened to these dogs, but she couldn’t find any information. It was depressing because she could see how many cuts and bruises Violet had on her body.
Someone did this to her and they can’t find the people responsible. Nevertheless, these pups are safe now after she took them to the vet in Oklahoma, but Violet’s healing journey will take a long time.
Given the severity of her situation, she will have to be on a very strict diet in order to recover, so Paulla made sure to give her lamb and rice with Pedialyte.
The Treatment Is Progressing Well

Along with that, she also received Gabapentin and all of this helped improve her digestion. It was a small victory for Violet and a good sign.
Paulla also noted just how terrified the pup was during her healing journey. Anytime a vet would try to help her, she would start growling.
It was a strong indicator that she was abused before and she didn’t like it when people touched her. Nevertheless, they were able to do their job.
She was also recovering from an upper respiratory infection, and was receiving treatment for fleas, ticks, and worms.

Paulla realized that anytime someone reached out with their hand to her face, she would get triggered, even though she loved when people petted her.
Violet had a hard time understanding the true intentions of these kind people because she only had to deal with abuse her whole life and this was all new to her.
Still, Paulla is hopeful that everything will eventually turn out great for her and Violet might even find a forever home someday after her recovery.
Until then, she remains safe in the hands of her rescuers who are working around the clock to give her the love and support she deserves.
