This shy girl spent most of her life being used for breeding, and when she was no longer considered useful, her owner simply threw her away. Thankfully, her story took a turn when a kind-hearted person from North Carolina stepped in to help.
A Beautiful Transformation Begins
When Laney first welcomed Maybelline into her home, she noticed how timid and reserved the dog was. But that didn’t last long.

Learning To Trust Again
When Laney first learned about Maybelline’s background, she was heartbroken. The dog had been neglected and used solely for breeding.
She was kept mostly outside in terrible conditions. And shockingly, after surrendering her, the previous owner even tried to reclaim her.
However, when the shelter told him the only way he could take her back was if she were spayed, he refused — clearly showing his only intention was to use her again.
Laney was relieved that Maybelline had ended up in their care instead. Since arriving, she’s been showered with love and slowly introduced to a whole new world.
At first, Maybelline didn’t know what toys were or how to enjoy them. Even a dog bed confused her. That was a heartbreaking reminder of the neglect she had endured.
But over time, she began to learn.
Her foster parents were thrilled to watch her slowly learn to trust again. It didn’t happen overnight, but her progress has been nothing short of incredible.
Given how awful her past life was, it’s truly a miracle that Maybelline remained so sweet and affectionate. Her foster family is overjoyed to see her thriving and being loved the way she always should’ve been.
