Quiet Pit Bull Who Was Surrendered To New York Shelter Finds His Forever Human And Discovers True Love

Some dogs who used to have a home end up in shelters through no fault of their own.

Their families left the dogs at a shelter and said their last goodbye to them, leaving them confused.

Mochi, a sweet and quiet Pit Bull, experienced that loss and found himself behind the four walls of a kennel. His original family surrendered him to a shelter because one of their kids was allergic to him.

The adorable doggo instantly lost the home he once knew and started his life in a shelter. He hoped that he would catch the attention of a family who would love him forever.

Finding True Love

When Viveca, a kind-hearted woman, met her neighbor’s Pit Bull, she fell in love with the breed and had her heart set on adopting a Pit Bull.

At the time, she was battling depression and anxiety. She wanted to help a shelter dog in need and find a furry companion whom she could give all her love to.

Viveca went to Animal Care Centers in New York, NYC in order to search for a pit bull.

All the shelter dogs that she met that day were barking, except for Mochi, who was staying at the last kennel.

Since Viveca wanted to adopt a silver Pit Bull, Mochi wasn’t her first choice.

However, when the shelter volunteer advised her to take him for a walk, she agreed. After Viveca spent some time with Mochi, he stole her heart, and she adopted him.

Once Viveca brought the dog home, he surprised her. He had great house manners, he was housetrained, and he never had a single accident.

Viveca and her husband gave Mochi all their love, and the dog was happy because he felt that he had finally found the place where he belonged.

Viveca and Mochi built a strong relationship. They loved each other deeply.

“Our bond. It’s really indescribable like it’s magic that can only be felt,” Viveca told GeoBeats Animals.

Mochi helped her navigate through her depression and helped her gain a new outlook on life. The dog became such an important part of her life that she couldn’t picture her life without him by her side.

“I can’t imagine my life without him because he is just my soul dog,” Viveca stated.

Mochi’s Happy Life

When gray hair started to appear on Mochi’s fur, Viveca was sad because it reminded her that Mochi was aging. She didn’t want to think about the day she would lose him.

“He started to get white and at first, I was really sad that he was aging ‘cause you don’t wanna think about them ever getting to that day. But I saw a quote and it was like, there’s white on their face because you’ve kissed away the color over the years,” Viveca added.

Over the years, Mochi faced discrimination because of his breed. During his walks, he met people who assumed that he was aggressive, and they ran away from him.

Viveca has become an advocate for Pit Bulls and considers that their breed is misunderstood.

Mochi doesn’t let the discrimination and prejudice get to him. He focuses on his happy life with his parents in New York and cherishes all the love they shower him with.

The doggo has an Instagram account where he shares updates about his life.

Mochi, you’re a beautiful soul. I’m overjoyed because you found your happily ever after.
