Dog daycares are truly a great place for pups. Not only do they get to spend the day surrounded by other dogs, but they also enjoy structured activities and fun organized by the staff.
For many dogs, it feels like the highlight of their week, and some get so worked up with excitement that they end up doing the funniest things.
That’s exactly what happened when one Michigan pup named Chessie went to her favorite daycare. Her reaction left her mom laughing and caught everyone by surprise.
A Greeting Nobody Anticipated
As soon as Chessie and her mom arrived at Doggy Daycare and Spa, her happiness was impossible to contain. Without hesitation, she jumped right over the front counter to greet her favorite staff member.
Her owner was stunned and burst out laughing, completely surprised by the overjoyed greeting.
According to Makenzy Burman, the manager of the daycare, this wasn’t totally out of character. Chessie comes three times a week and always makes a point to say hello to her.
Normally, Chessie trots around the counter to greet Burman face-to-face, but this time her excitement took over, leading her to leap instead.
Even though Burman didn’t expect that specific entrance, she explained that she’s seen all sorts of over-the-top greetings from dogs during her years working at daycare.
For her, the whole moment just showed how much the dogs enjoy their time there and how cared for they feel while visiting.
Social Media Loved It
Since the moment was too funny not to share, the team at Doggy Daycare and Spa decided to post the clip from their security camera on Facebook.
The video immediately attracted plenty of attention, with people eager to comment on the pup’s surprising jump.
One person wrote: “The way she nonchalantly moved her coffee tells me she’s a pro at being greeted by the dogs this way.”
I couldn’t help but notice that too. It definitely seemed like she had experience handling excited greetings from dogs.
Another commenter added: “How do you know your babies are being cared for without knowing they’re being cared for? They leave mom and jump the counter to give the daycare lady kisses!”
That comment really says it all. If dogs are showing that much love and excitement, it’s clear they’re in a good place.
And finally, someone else wrote: “As a doggie daycare worker I can tell you this is a normal greeting and we are never upset about it.”
It’s comforting to know that not only are the dogs happy to be there, but the staff truly enjoys sharing in those joyful greetings too.
